Golden week is a major Japanese holiday period from late April to early May. It consists of four national holidays such as Showa day, Constitution Day, Greenery Day, and Children's Day. So, with a few days off from class, my friends and I took the opportunity to go outside of Tokyo to Kobe. Kobe is located in the Kansai region, about 3 hours away from Tokyo by the shinkansen. In the few days that we were in Kobe, we visited the Himeji castle, went to see the Nunobiki Herb Garden, and went to the Arima Onsen! It was my first time going to an onsen so I was pretty nervous, but it really was a positive experience that I would definitely do again!
