Week 8: Hanging out with friends

This week I went to watch the movie Michael with my friends at Toho Cinemas in Shinjuku. I was very curious about how different the movie theater would be compared to the cinemas in Hawaii. Certain things were different like how a plastic divider is placed inside your popcorn bucket if you order two popcorn flavors at once, and a clever food tray taht locks
right into your seat's cup holder.
My friends and I also went to a Costco in Japan because we were curious with how different it would be compared to America. The first thing we checked was the items in the food court. It featured local items like bulgogi bake instead of a chicken bake, salmon poke rolls, and hojicha soft serve. The layout of Costco was also designed differently because we had to start our shopping on the second floor before being able to go to the first floor where all the grocery items were located.
Later that week, I went to get dinner withs some of my friends visiting from Hawaii and decided to try beef katsu. Since I have never had it back home in Hawaii, it was a completely new dish to me. It was a little pricey, but it turned out to be really good!
